| INSPIRATIONS TO BOOST YOUR HAPPINESS
Like Yourself Being kind to yourself, and learning to like yourself, is an important skill to learn. It might be pretty easy to like yourself on good days when the sun is shining all around you. But you must also learn to like yourself on days when situations in life are trying to tell you "you're not such a good person." For example, maybe someone said something mean about you and you take it to heart. Or you forget to do your chores and your parents call you lazy. That kind of situation is when it's especially important to tell yourself "I'm a really good person, I'm just having a bad day." When you are kind to yourself, it allows room for others to be kind to you too because it welcomes them in. Perhaps you can be kind in your attitude to people around you as well. It may help you to focus on the positive aspects that you like about yourself and others. Do so and you bring more warmth into the world.
Sing a Song Someone once said, "Sing a song and angels sing with you." It doesn't matter if you can't sing in tune! Learning to express yourself through song is a wonderful way to pass the time. When you sing, you release stored up energy and connect with your mind and emotions. Have you ever found yourself crying with joy because a song has touched something deep inside of you? This is because you have connected with your soul. Perhaps you enjoy listening to music and singing along with it, or creating beautiful harmonies. If singing becomes a passion, you may even take it a step further and sign up for singing lessons with a professional. Sing out loud, and let music bring joy and happiness into your life.
Spread the Joy When others are feeling low, spread a little sunshine in their lives by radiating your inner sense of joy. Joy is an inner state of being that allows you to feel free to express the light of your soul to the world. Radiating joy is a sure way to attract other joyous people, and together you can uplift and influence those who come into contact with you. Make way for joy even on days when the clouds seem to hang over you and darkness prevails. Always remember that, like the sun which sometimes hides behind clouds, joy is always there in your heart. Be open to joy in your life.
See Life As a Luxury Every time you feel low, remember that this is a big, wide world to which you belong and that you have been allowed the luxury to experience life on earth. If you are healthy, that is your biggest luxury. If you have all the things you need to survive (such as a home and food), then that is another luxury. If you have the love and warmth of family or close friends, that is still a greater luxury. When you start to think of life this way, all the things that you used to think of as "luxuries" will begin to seem like "extras." For example, a visit to the movies, owning a car, traveling, having the company of a wonderful pet at home - these are all extra luxuries that you are tremendously lucky to have. Notice what regular luxuries you have in your life, and what are extras - see what you've got and know how fortunate you are.
| GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP
Good sleeping habits play a big part in helping you to stay healthy. If you don’t get enough rest, you may feel tired, cranky or depressed. Lack of sleep can also cause skin problems, such as acne.
Most teen and pre-teen girls need at least 9 hours of sleep a night, and maybe even more. If you don’t always get the “Z’s” you need, follow these simple steps for better sleep.
Step 1: Keep regular bedtime hours. Even on weekends and school vacations, don’t stay up more than an hour later or sleep more than 2-3 hours later than usual.
Step 2: Relax before going to bed. Avoid heavy reading or scary TV shows close to bedtime. Take a warm bath instead.
Step 3: Play sports or exercise in the afternoon, but not right before bed. A workout can keep you revved up for hours!
Step 4: After lunch, avoid cola, hot chocolate and other drinks that contain caffeine.
Step 5: Catch a nap in the afternoon if you like, but keep it to 30 minutes max. Too much sleeping mid-day can make it hard to sleep at night.
Step 6: Keep your room cool, quiet and dark at night. As soon as you wake up, turn on the lights or open your blinds to help you feel more awake and alert.
Step 7: If you have trouble sleeping for more than two nights in a row, or if there’ s something on your mind that is keeping you awake, tell a trusted adult. You might also want to visit your doctor to get a complete physical checkup. Help is available!

HOW TO STOP PEOPLE FROM BUGGING YOU ABOUT GETTING MARRIED Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next."They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

| Dear Friends, this is a bit wordy but every bit thought provoking.
GEORGE CARLIN (His wife recently died...)
Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - gross and mouthy comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent .and so very appropriate post 9-11.
A wonderful Message by George Carlin:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.
Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
Give time to love, give time to speak,! and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
If you don't send this to at least 8 people... who cares?
George Carlin

1. I think deeply of a problem and find a solution before pouring it out.
2. I go depressed, quiet and sleepy under the influence of large amounts of alcohol. (and no, i havent got drunk before)
3. I like to sleep with a comforter pulled all the way up my nose, then cuddle into a ball with a bolster. (you know, psycologists say most people sleep in this position and one characteristic of them is that they feel insecure.)
5. I can't count, so i jumped to number 5. HAHA.
And so, I nominate these people to do this quiz! 1) Victor 2) Elliott 3) Calvin 4) Steve 5) Phoebe
